Help the right customers find you on Google
Search engine optimisation is the work of making your website easy for search engines to understand and worth showing to people who are looking for what you do. Here is what that involves, in plain English.
A vague page title and a generic description. The business may be on the page, but it gives nobody a reason to click.
A clear title, a service-specific page and a description that answers the searcher's question.
Illustrative example using a concept brand from my portfolio. It shows how search results can look, not a real ranking result.
A healthy, fast website search engines can read
Technical SEO
Making sure search engines can find, read and index every important page, without errors or dead ends.
Website speed
Faster pages keep visitors from leaving and are favoured by Google. I compress images, trim code and set up caching.
Mobile usability
Most searches happen on phones. Text, buttons and layouts need to work at every screen size.
Google Search Console
Free tool from Google showing which searches find you and any problems it spots. I set it up and watch it.
Website audits
A full check of your site with a prioritised list of fixes, explained in plain English.
Pages that answer what people search for
Keyword research
Finding the words your customers actually type, so each page targets real searches.
Page titles & meta descriptions
The blue headline and summary people see in results. Clear ones get more clicks.
Heading structure
One main heading per page and logical subheadings, so search engines and readers understand the topic.
Internal linking
Links between your own pages that guide visitors and spread importance to key services.
Image optimisation
Smaller files, modern formats and descriptive alt text for speed, accessibility and image search.
How internal links help
Linking related services to each other, and every page to your contact page, helps visitors find what they need and helps Google understand which pages matter most.
Show up for customers nearby
Local SEO
Consistent name, address and phone details, location pages and local signals that help you appear in nearby searches.
Google Business Profile optimisation
Categories, services, photos, posts and review replies that strengthen your Maps listing.
Your Google Business Profile
For local businesses, the profile that appears in Maps and on the right of search results is often seen more than the website itself. Keeping it complete and active is one of the most practical things you can do.

SEO is not a one-off job
Search engines, competitors and your own business keep changing. SEO works best as a steady cycle of small improvements. Nobody can honestly guarantee a ranking position, and I won't. What I can promise is careful, transparent work that follows Google's own guidelines.
Audit
Find what’s holding the site back.
Fix
Technical and on-page improvements, most important first.
Publish
Better pages and content for the searches that matter.
Measure
Check Search Console and adjust. Then repeat.
SEO FAQs
How long does SEO take to work?
Technical fixes can be picked up by Google within weeks. Building visibility for competitive searches usually takes months of steady work. I'll set realistic expectations after reviewing your site.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?
No. Nobody controls Google's rankings, and guarantees are a warning sign. I focus on the things that are within our control and report honestly on progress.
Do I need a new website for SEO?
Not always. Many sites improve a lot with technical fixes, better page titles and clearer content. If a rebuild would help, I'll explain why.
